If you, or someone you may know, are 11 years of age or older and are interested in trying officiating this season, Merritt will be hosting a new officials clinic on Sunday, September 26th from 9:00 am- 1:00 pm at the Best Western. A mandatory ice time will follow the clinic, running from 2:00 pm- 3:15 pm at the NVMA. Once there is a link to register, it will be posted here. Prior to attending the clinic, you must also complete an online portion called "Hockey University" course. Once fully registered for both the HU and the in person clinic, send me an email with a screenshot of your receipt for the clinics so that you will be able to get fully reimbursed by MMHA.
All returning official's clinics will be held virtually again this season. Please keep checking the BC Hockey web page to see when they will be made available to you. As in years passed, if you do not plan to re- certify for the 2021- 2022 season, you are still able to officiate up until December 31st, 2021. Once you have registered and completed your clinic, please send me your receipt so that you can get reimbursed by MMHA.
Here are the links for our in person clinic for new officials this Sunday. If you are 11, (grade 6), you would sign up for the U9 course, if you are 12 (grade 7), or older, you would sign up for the level 1 clinic. If you are older than 16 and wanting to sign up for this clinic, I am still waiting to hear back from BC Hockey if you will sign up for the in person clinic or an online one.
Any other questions can be directed to me and I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner and to the best of my abilities. I can be reached by email at RIC@merrittminorhockey.com or by text/ call at 778-257-3358.
