All individuals who are 13 or 14 years of age, as of December 31st, are eligible to register in the U15 division, which offers structured full-ice practices and games.
Participants are divided into equal teams consisting of a maximum of 17 players and 2 goaltenders.
Goaltenders must register as such and will only be able to play as a goaltender.
A qualified coach will facilitate all on-ice activities; however, each team will require several parent volunteers.
Practices will focus on technical skills, individual tactics, and team tactics, systems and strategy.
Games usually commence in October and follow all Hockey Canada rules.
Teams will be registered in a designated OMAHA league.
U15 teams will be permitted to attend up to three (3) out-of-town tournaments and recreation team(s) will host one (1) in-town tournament.
Teams may qualify for league playoffs and BC Championships.
The U15 division will offer the opportunity for participants to try-out for a competitive team. Those players selected for a competitive team will be required to pay additional fees for provincial 'carding' and extra ice-time. Body checking is permitted in the U15 competitive league.
